Often times in design, we are preoccupied with the conventions of what we are trying to create, what we are attempting to improve, or how we are different. Words such as form, light, materiality and texture infiltrate our vocabulary, and although these are all important things that I absolutely love, we sometimes lose sight of the overall goal. Design is ultimately about people. Last night I found myself surrounded by an incredible myriad of talented architects, artists, and designers. They spoke of their projects and processes for design. But what was most impressed upon me, was the ability of architecture and design to bring people together. Design brings people together who would have likely never met and gives them a common language. The process of design is inherently collaborative, because no good design is ever created without someone else in mind.
DESIGN.INSPIRE.REPEAT.
