On the Rigi :: AFGH

The Rigi, a prominent mountain in the Swiss Alps, is referred to by natives of the area as "Queen of the Mountains". And its no doubt that this private home design by AFGH is fit for royalty. The view alone leaves one speechless, and the honesty of the interior speaks to the soul of the mountains in a way that is so rarely understood by designers. The almost exclusively wood interior is juxtaposed by moments of raw concrete, most notably in the design of the cellar. Sparse (yet specific) furnishings compliment the simplicity of the interior, allowing both to appear at their full potential, and a relatively homogeneous color palette sets the stage for a surprise in the kitchen. This home is truly a retreat for the mind body and soul.
