Its officially summer here in San Francisco, as the "June Gloom" has taken up residence! Nothing but grey skies and fog for awhile from here on out, so I thought a little Swiss villa could be just the place to cozy up by the fire. This family home by Ralph Germann is located in the ValleƩ de Joux, or Valley of Rocks as the local dialect would suggest. True to Nordic simplicity, wood is the prevalent material and is complimented by a simple/muted color palette with occasional pops of a lipstick red. The horizontal windows compliment the otherwise box like structure nicely, making the overall space appear much larger than it might otherwise, and low-profile furnishings add to the casual elegance that Nordic design is known for.
