HEAVENLY FRAMING

Archipelago House :: Tham & Videgard Arkitekter

After a long and stressful week, I thought we all deserved a little weekend getaway. This plan generated, site specific home in Stockholm by Tham & Videgard Arkitekter embraces its surroundings and landscape. Positioned between two mountain rocks, this home is simultaneously oriented toward the sun in the South and the sea in the West. Large sliding glass panels allow the occupant to seamlessly move from space to space while gracefully framing the breath-taking surroundings.

From the architect:
A multiplicity of readings. As a result of the large glass panes and the prevailing conditions of light, reflections and mirror-like effects, a quality is created where nature, space and horizon all interact together.

  1. Kat, I simply love your posts. The house is incredible! Actually I tried to write a comment about Steve Jobs but I didn't find words. His book is since 3 months on my bedside table."We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?"

    big hugs to you
