JORGE AYALA : POST-DIGITAL CURIOUSITIES

[Ay]A Studio :: Jorge Ayala

Material Exploration

[Ay]A Studio is a "global design laboratory" based in Paris and founded by Architect and innovator Jorge Ayala. As a student of architecture, Mexico City born Jorge Ayala explores the implications of digital technology through a variety of disciplines. Featured below, the couture pieces of Jorge Ayala Clothing Design, expose his roots in architectural drawings, digital fabrication and a fascination of material explorations--all of these right down my alley! A refreshingly risky design sense and method of representation let us know he is not afraid to be in a class all his own! Surely, Jorge Ayala is a name to keep track of in the world of experimental fashion and couture.

EXPLORE

In order to keep all my readers up to date with what I'm doing in the world of design, I will be featuring much more of my own work, material explorations, and all the ridiculous things I've been up to. I have so many fun projects in the works, both solo and with this chica, so please stay tuned for lots of goodies from here on out.

Raw Cotton Manipulations :: Locally sourced cotton fiber, mixed media...this is just the beginning.

TOMAS SERACENO

Tomas Saraceno

Today, I'd like to share with you the very interesting work of architect/artist Tomas Saraceno. Saraceno received his formal training in architecture in Buenos Aires and now practices his experimental designs in Frankfurt. His work has an underlying biophilic tone while referencing his interests in utopian theories and astronomy. He often consults scientists and astrophysicists for his work which is conveyed in the intricacy and detail only achievable through meticulous attention to the universe's naturally occurring systems and connections.
