Meant to reflect the atmosphere and landscape of the surroundings, Splendid Architecture implemented local materials in an overall modern aesthetic for the Kitzbuelhel Mansion in Tyrolia Austria. A touch of glamour is expressed in lighting and reflective surfaces, but the layout and placement of glazing throughout the facade is meant to celebrate the nature that surrounds the home.

Casa Kimball :: Rangr Studio

It's not often that I have nothing to say, especially when it comes to architecture, interiors, design, art, graphics, photography...you get the point.  But today, I'll let the images speak for themselves (well mostly!).  Casa Kimball by Rangr Studio is a vacation paradise on the beautiful shore of the Dominican Republic.  With eight suites, multiple pools, breathtaking views, and a one of a kind facade design, not to mention loads and loads of glazing... this is a perfect place to clear your mind for a busy week ahead!  Deep breathes today...stay inspired!

SYSTEMATIC ORGANIC

Green Cast :: Kengo Kuma Associates

This facade design by Kengo Kuma Associates in Japan amazingly combines the functional requirements of a building with the desire for an organic appearance by systematic approach.  Panels of aluminum frame the majority of the facade and conceal the facilities of the building.  These combined with decayed styrene foam create a series of planters, slanted to allow water hoses and air ventilation to be stored behind the panels. From a distance, this facade may appear as simply an artistic expression made by the architect, but by zooming in, you can see the purpose and function that the placement of the panels possess.
